What happens to minorities who can't or won't sue the papers?

Well, they all look the same, dun't they?

Via Rhetorically Speaking, Liberal Conspiracy, Tabloid Watch, the Enemies of Reason and Angry Mob (sorry if I've missed anyone) comes the fantastic news of the Mail being sued for blatantly and deliberately making stuff up.

This is the second of two posts about Richard Barnbrook's potential suspension. This will look at Barnbrook's defence, and how the tabloids are relevant to it and the actions that made it necessary.

The Mail/BNP Syndrome

I've spoken before about how the Daily Mail is often superficially critical of the BNP, calling the party names but actually producing material not that different from what you'd expect to see in a BNP campaign leaflet. Sometimes, this can happen in the same story.

Not always though. 'An economy in chaos and now those expenses. BNP leaders hope it's the 'perfect storm' that will sweep them to power', from Saturday's edition isn't an awful attempt to expose the BNP, although it is a little thin on substance and it probably talks up the goons' 'successes' a bit too much, but it is at least critical all the way through and traces the party's lineage back to Oswald Mosely. Of course, the paper's own lineage stretches back to supporting fascism in the thirties, but that's not too important in this story.

Richard Littlejohn's compassion

Sorry for those of you waiting for another Barnbrook post. It'll have to wait until I get back from the stag do I'm off to this afternoon.

In the meantime, here's another quick look at how Richard Littlejohn is a twat, because it's quick and very, very easy to do.

Richard Barnbrook's caught inventing 'facts' for his blog. Who'd have thunk it?

I challenge you to look at this picture and not think of the 'Steptoe and Son' theme tune.
YOU CAN'T DO IT!

This will be the first of two posts about Richard Barnbrook's potential suspension. It consists of a bit of background and a lot of pointing and laughing.

Dacre's evidence to Committee 'Bizarro' version

CONK! Real Dacre hits Bizarro Dacre with funky-wheeled car

While giving his Bizarro World version of what happens in the Mail to the Culture, Media and Sport Committee a couple of weeks ago, Paul Dacre was asked about churnalism, the practice of regurgitating press releases and stories from other outlets without checking. He said that it did go on in other papers but, 'I would refute that charge to the Daily Mail.'

Another false immigration scare story from the Express

Airport zombie - possibly illegal immigrant

There's this great bit in Dawn of the Dead, where the four main characters fleeing zombie armageddon in Pittsburgh have to stop off to refuel their helicopter in an abandoned rural airport. Peter, played by Ken Foree, wanders off into the offices and gets attacked by a couple of zombie children, which would ruin anyone's day.

Richard Barnbrook sidelined for BNP Euro election campaign?

Why wouldn't you be proud of a man who can't even wear a belt properly? Knob.

I had to laugh last week when the BNP's Activists' and Organisers' Handbook and BNP Language & Concepts Discipline Manual got some coverage in the press.*
